A 53mm IMS precision basket to fit the 9Barista espresso machine. Manufactured by I.M.S. (Industria Materiali Stampati) in Italy, this basket features patented perforation technology for exceptional precision.
The IMS patented perforation technology guarantees a precisely circular hole with a cone shaped (non-pyramidal) cross section. The inner surface of the cone shaped hole is polished, leaving no edges or burrs. As a result, coffee oils flow through freely without obstruction, leading to a more consistent extraction across the whole basket.
Each 9Barista comes with a conventional 53mm basket as standard and we find these baskets produce excellent espresso. Some customers do report an improvement with these precision ones - so we have made them available as a separate upgrade.
